We don’t like to think about it, but our dogs grow old – faster than we ever wish they would. One day, they’re bounding ahead of us on walks, chasing after squirrels with unshakable determination. The next, they slow down, their legs a little wobblier, their energy not quite what it used to be. It’s heart breaking to see, isn’t it? My Cocker Spaniel, Maya, will be eleven this year, touch wood at the moment she is still really active and loving the adventure dog life, however I know that the time will come when she starts feeling her age and not be so eager to go out for a sniff.
For many of us, daily walks with our dogs are more than just exercise – they’re rituals, bonding moments, and an essential part of both our routines. So when our beloved pups start to struggle, when the walks that once brought them joy start to feel like too much, we’re left with a difficult choice. Do we leave them at home, watching us go without them? Or do we find another way?
Enter the WonderFold Pet Stroller. Now I think this dog stroller could be a game changer when it comes to giving your dog a great quality of life when age starts to take its toll. Stylish, easy to push and quick to fold away, I couldn’t fault the design and function of the Wonderfold Pet Stroller. Maya on the other hand did seem a bit taken aback when it dawned on her that it actually moved! Think she thought it was just somewhere to nap, which of course it can also be used for alongside being a dog carrier and dog car seat.
Anyway I suppose any self-respecting pooch might feel a bit silly at first and I’m not going to lie, I did feel a bit self-conscious pushing her round the park at first, but it wasn’t long before I could appreciate the enjoyment of being able to get outdoors and have a sniff that it must give older or injured dogs was well worth a few funny looks!
A lot of thought has gone into the design details and functionality of the Wonderfold Pet Stroller, so lets go through its stand out features.
Reversible Handlebar for Maximum Comfort One of the first things I noticed (and loved) about this stroller is the reversible handlebar. It lets you push while facing your dog, which is great because most dogs like making eye contact and knowing their pawrent is right there. If you’re in a rush or need to focus ahead, you can switch the handlebar and push like a regular stroller.
Safety First: Built-in Leash I’m going to be honest, Maya is not always a well-behaved girl and thus far, still pretty agile, so I did wonder if she would stay in the dog stroller during our test. Luckily, the Wonderfold has a built-in leash that keeps your dog safely inside and gives us peace of mind, knowing our precious pup won’t suddenly jump out if something catches their attention.
Hassle-Free Access with Zipperless Entry I found getting Maya in and out of the stroller really easy thanks to the zipperless entry. She could step in and out effortlessly, which is especially nice for an older dog like her.
Spacious Storage for Essentials If you’re a dog parent, you know we never travel light! Treats, water, poop bags, there’s always something to carry. The spacious back storage compartment and undercarriage basket are lifesavers. Everything you need fits perfectly, so you wouldn’t have to juggle bags while pushing your dog around.
Smooth Rides on Any Terrain Most dogs love going on different adventures, and the thick, durable wheels make every ride smooth, no matter where you go. Pavement, grass, gravel, this stroller handles it all like a pro. The front wheels swivel, making it easy to navigate, and if you’re on a bumpier path, you can lock them in place for more stability.
Easy Cleaning with a Removable Mat Let’s be real—dogs get messy! Whether it’s dirt from the park or crumbs from treats, I reckon it would be easy for any stroller to get a little dirty. Luckily, it has a removable mat, so you can just take it out, clean it, and pop it back in. Super convenient!
Light and Easy-to-Fold This 3 in 1 dog stroller weighs only 6.8kg and it is really quick and easy to fold up when not in use.
As you can tell I was really impressed with the Wonderfold Dog Stroller and will definitely be using it should the need arise. So, if you’ve noticed your dog struggling, hesitating at the door when it’s time to go out, or lagging behind more than usual, maybe it’s time to consider a stroller. It’s not about spoiling them, it’s about keeping them included, keeping them happy, and ensuring they know that just because they’re slowing down doesn’t mean they’re left behind.
Beyond just walks, a stroller could make life easier in so many ways. Vet visits become less stressful, outings to pet-friendly cafes remain possible, and even dog-friendly holidays would be more enjoyable if your senior pup can come along without overexertion. It’s about giving them a way to keep experiencing life, even as their bodies slow down.
After testing the Wonderfold Pet Stroller with Maya I have no hesitation in recommending it, if your pup is starting to flag on walks why not take a look at the Wonderfold site to find out more, because no matter how old our dogs get, they are still our adventure buddies!
