It’s that time of year again when we dog parents have to decide what to get out precious furbabies for Christmas. I have to admit that for me choosing presents for Maya and Lucia gets harder and harder each year so I always use part of my budget to make a donation to a dog charity or rescue centre. That said the pups have to have something to unwrap so here are my top tips for this year and a couple of doggy treats for humans too.
Being spaniels my dogs seem to live to get wet and muddy and if your dogs are anything like them, a drying coat from Ruff and Tumble would be a perfect choice. Ruff and Tumble Dog Drying Coats are made of double thickness soft cotton towelling and are stylish and practical. The coats are easy to get on and what’s more they stay on too, they are super stylish and are available in a huge range of colours. Honestly the coats dry my dog’s so quickly, I am really impressed with them and can quite understand why Ruff and Tumble are market leaders when it comes to drying coats for dogs. To make it an even more special Christmas gift for your pooch why not invest in one of the 2021 Christmas Limited Edition Coats as modelled by Maya above, These are stylish, cosy and look so festive your dog can even pretend to be Santa Paws!
You can never have too many collars and Reg & Bob do the perfect one, especially for dogs that in the words of the brand, like to be dogs. The collars striped design looks stylish and the robust fabric and hardware mean that they can put up with whatever your dogs do to enjoy themselves, all it takes is a quick wash in the machine for them to look as good as new. Everything is now made in the UK and the brand also sell matching leads.
Food and treats are definitely top of my spaniels list for Santa Paws and one of their absolute favourites is Forthglade. Their healthy, natural, grain free wet food, cold pressed dry food and treats are apparently delicious and the brand do a special Christmas Dinner range or you could treat your pooch to a bag of their new flavour of Cold Pressed, appropriately enough Turkey. We are actually ambassadors for the brand on Instagram so if you fancy trying it you can use our code LUCIA20 for 20% off your first order at Forthglade.com
If you follow us on Instagram you’ll know that I am a sucker for quotes so I just couldn’t write this gift list without mentioning Worry Less Design. They have a special collection for dog lovers including this great mug, the range also includes candles, fridge magnets and prints all with an inspiring dog related quote or poem on. Why not treat yourself or a fellow dog parent!
If ever there were two dogs that were in need of Dirty Dog products it is Maya and Lucia – well they are spaniels (if you know, you know!) This small business make all their soap bars for dogs and other products from natural ingredients with no added nasties. I can confirm that they leave even the most stinky, dirty dog sparkling clean. The girls actually smelt so divine after using the products I was thrilled to find out that Dirty Dog make some human products too and I have most certainly got some of their bath bombs on my Christmas wish list although as my partner is a last minute type of shopper I will probably receive some for my birthday instead! Why not check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
Christmas is one of the few times that I eat cake and it seemed a shame for Maya and Lucia to miss out so we tried out this Home Barking Kit from Sniffe & Likkit – and I have to say that it went down well indeed with the dogs. Sniffe & Likkit also have a range of other Christmas gifts for dogs on their site and specialise in grooming products.
Although I can thoroughly recommend treating you and your dog to a pet friendly break for Christmas the image above is really all about the Chuckit Breathe Right Stick, not only does the Breathe Right range allow your dog to breathe more easily while carrying something in their mouth they actually float too. Lucia absolutely loves anything and everything by Chuckit and although we have collaborated with Chuckit previously this was bought out of my very own pawket money! I could not recommend this brand highly enough when it comes to throwing toys for your doggo and for sure there will be items from them in my spaniels Christmas Stockings.
So there you have it, my top picks for dog presents for 2021 are all things that you can make good use of all year round, are long lasting and good quality. All that’s left is for us to wish you and your dogs a Very Merry Christmas.
Love Sal, Maya and Lucia xxx
*** Most of the products in this gift list have been previously gifted to us but their inclusion in this post will be a surprise to most of them!
